LODGING
All guest groups have their own cabin. Log cabins at Broadacres are luxuriously appointed in rustic Rocky Mountain style to ensure unsurpassed comfort and atmosphere during your stay on the ranch. Tongue-in-groove aspen interiors accent our beautifully decorated cabins; each is equipped with a full kitchen. All cabins have spacious covered porches with swings and rockers for enjoying the spectacular views while having a relaxing conversation or reading a good book. Our beds are pillowtop, high quality mattresses with high thread count, all cotton linens.

RECREATION
Starting in 1999, Broadacres embarked on a substantial habitat improvement effort on the waters of the Rio Grande and Shallow Creek. Years of work have vastly improved the holding water on the property and generated some of the finest fly-fishing available in the American West. Enjoy Float Trips on the headwaters of the famous Rio Grande River, 11 acres of trophy trout lakes, or fishing high mountain creeks in the Rio Grande National Forest adjacent to the Ranch to round out a complete fishing experience. Broadacres Ranch also offers superb big game hunting in Colorado’s famous Trophy Unit 76. Contact us early for availability of our Bull and Cow Elk permits and to secure your once in a lifetime Elk hunt. There are numerous trails on the ranch and in the area for hiking, mountain biking or just a leisurely walk. Excellent 4x4 adventures take you to abandoned mines, high backcountry mountain passes, and beautiful wildflower carpeted alpine meadows.

FOR CHILDREN
Broadacres Ranch welcomes families with children. Fly fishing lessons are available upon request. Children will also find a playground, hiking and bird watching here on the ranch. There are numerous hiking trails, areas to hunt fossils, and our Tom Sawyer Hideaway on one of the ranch’s islands in the Rio Grande River. Be sure to book a Scenic Float Trip and picnic down the Rio Grande for the whole family during your visit as well. Winter is sure to keep the young at heart busy with local ice-skating, snowmobiling, sledding and skiing/snowboarding at nearby Wolf Creek Ski Area.

FOOD/LIQUOR
With the completion of Glenmora, our beautiful Bensonwood timber frame restaurant lodge, Broadacres boasts dining accommodations on par with its outstanding fishing and lodging. As a part of our lodging rates, each guest will enjoy gourmet meals at Glenmora. The evening meal will be accompanied by a variety of premium wines, spirits, and beers.

BUSINESS/MEETINGS
Broadacres Ranch welcomes business groups and corporate outings. The fall season starting after Labor Day is a great time for retreats, with the aspen trees changing, the fish biting, and the elk bugling. This is one business trip you will want to take year after year. Please inquire ahead of time so that we may completely accommodate your party.

During the winter enjoy snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling or visit nearby Wolfcreek ski area. Guests may bring their own equipment or rent locally.

HISTORY/HOSTS
The historic Broadacres Ranch was first homesteaded in 1891, when Creede was still a wild silver mining town, inhabited by the likes of Calamity Jane, Doc Holliday and Bat Masterson. The ice tongs that are the Ranch's brand date back to these same bold times, when the Broadacres supplied ice to the nearby saloons and hotels (including the legendary big Watrous Saloon, owned by Bat Masterson). During the winter months, huge ice blocks were cut from the Ranch's largest lake, Broadacres Lake, and stored with hay bales and sawdust in an ice house near the barn.
This ice house, along with the original Ranch buildings still exist today. The beautiful big green open barn was built by Arthur Broadhead, who in 1918, married Elsie Grant, daughter of the original Ranch homesteader John Grant. The Grants had immigrated from near Glasgow, Scotland, and for awhile the Ranch was known as Glenmora.
In November of 1998, Broadacres Ranch was purchased by a family of fly fishing and outdoors enthusiasts. They immediately began to rebuild and restore many of the Ranch's buildings, carefully maintaining their historic architecture while endowing them with modern conveniences and luxurious furnishings.
Extensive trout habitat improvement has been in progress for the last 3 years.
The end results are first class accommodations with the look and feel of the Old West, and fly fishing to rival that offered anywhere in the U.S.
