LODGING
Harmel's Ranch Resort is a dude and guest ranch with many amenities. We are open from May 15 to the end of September. We have a 3 night minimum and you can start your vacation on any day of the week you choose! Harmel's has 37 cabins, 18 with kitchenettes, with a guest capacity of 150. We are located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies 20 miles west of the Continental Divide; up Taylor Canyon where the Taylor River & Spring Creek converge. We are about 30 minutes from the town of Gunnison and 20 minutes from the quaint ski town of Crested Butte. We are fortunate enough to have 1.6 million acres of the Gunnison National Forest as our backyard. We have a string of approximately 60 ranch stock horses that are appropriate for all different riding abilities, from first timer to the advanced rider. Our trail rides and overnight pack trips are beautiful, educational, and authentic. All of our accommodations are modern and tastefully appointed and most run along the Taylor for a great view of the river. Our facilities include 37 cabins, an outstanding restaurant and saloon, spa with serenity garden, kids stocked pond, playground, an outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna, recreation area with billiards table, puzzles & games, business center with two wi-fi hot spots, a land line phone, gift store, horseshoes, volleyball, and laundry facilities. Harmel's offers three packages to choose from: Fisherman's Holiday, American Plan, and Run of the Ranch - all three include a hardy breakfast each morning and cookouts during on-season. Each package has its own individual features that allows you to plan your vacation how you like it! We have expanded our back deck off of the dining room all the way to the back of the recreation room with a fantastic view of the river. Our cabins range in size from sleeping two to nine people. Every cabin (or unit) has a refrigerator and a coffee maker, and its own private bathroom. Let the friendly staff at Harmel's Ranch Resort and Spa treat your family to a once in a lifetime experience of Western Hospitality!

There is also a lot of hiking and mountain biking trails right off the ranch property. And there are two golf courses int eh area, each about 20 minutes from the ranch.

Harmel's offers a Children's Program for kids ages 4 and up. The first session starts at 9am until noon, the second session is from 1pm to 4pm. Each session is different with the choice of these activities: swimming pool, arts & crafts, visiting the wranglers & petting zoo, yard games, puzzels, hiking, and more!

The Children's Program is designed to keep your little ones safe and happy allowing the other family memebers to do some of the more adventurous activities.

Babysitting can be arranged with 24 hours advance notice at $10 per hour per child.

FOOD/LIQUOR
Western style food abounds at Harmel's! A hearty breakfast is included with all three packages we offer. Lunch menu, buffet, or soup & salad. Our evening meals is where we really shine! Monday and Thursday (on-season only) we have our outdorr chuckwagon dinners with musical entertaiment. Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday are our menu nights in the dining room with nightly specials. Saturday night is our really big smorgasbord grand buffet featuring prime rib. Harmel's also has a saloon located in the dining room offering domestic & imported beers, spirits and wine.

BUSINESS/MEETINGS
A great place for small retreats, weddings, and family reunions! We have numerous family reunions throughout each summer and we're goo at 'em!

REGION/CUSTOMS
Gunnison County Colorado has been a destination vacation for many, many years. We are located in the southwestern part of the state in the heart of the Colorado Rockies at 8,412 feet, and 20 miles west of the Continental Divide. This area allows for so many outdoor activities: horseback riding, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, bird & wildlife watching. We are also home to a lot of wild animals: black bear, mule-eared deer, elk, big horn sheep, mountain goats, mountain lions, bald eagles, red tail hawks, and others. Keep your camera handy!!

HISTORY/HOSTS
This parcel of land, where Harmel's is now located, was homesteaded in the 1800's and was a half way point between the mining town of Tincup and the "big city" of Gunnison. One of our employee bunk houses is actually a converted tack shed and stalls from those mining days. Cabin #2 was built in 1891, making this our oldest rental, but it is themost recently remodeled as well! Bud Harmel ran the ranch for many years before his daughter Jody "Harmel" Roberts and her husband, Bill, came to run the place. Now their sons, Brad and Steve Roberts own and manage Harmel's Ranch Resort. Many of our guests hear about us through past guests, we are delighted to say many of our guests have been coming for over 15 years and some more than 30! Ten years ago we put up a website and each year it gets better and more informative. The address is www.harmels.com. Contact us and we'll send out a free color brochure to you right away. We hope to see ya'll this summer!

ITINERARY
Because there are so many activities to sign up for and all of the facilities to take advantage of (see the above listing under Recreation) - we allow you to make your schedule. We have a three night minimum and you can start your vacation on any day of the week you like. We have an activity schedule listed on our website at www.harmels.com as well as an ala carte menu of what activities we offer and how much each one costs. Don't hesitate to email or call our 800 number with any questions you may have, seven days a week!
