With eight guest cabins nestled at the mouth of a canyon, 3 Spear offers an intimate and relaxing environment, with views of the Wind River Valley and Absaroka Mountains.

The Setting

Backed up against the mountains of the Shoshone National Forest, 3 Spear Ranch offers 1,200 private acres of steep mountains, rolling hills, red rock mesas, private lakes and natural warm springs bursting with lush green watercress. Everywhere on the ranch there is a view across the Wind River Valley to the Absaroka Mountain Range.

3 Spear Ranch is bordered against the Shoshone National Forest, providing access to 2.4 million acres of pristine rugged mountain country.

Good to know

Beginner riders must be able to balance themselves in a saddle and listen to verbal instructions from a wrangler. 

Intermediate riders must be able to control their horse, including navigating around obstacles, stopping/proceeding/turning on command and keeping a balanced seat while in a trot. 

Advanced riders must be able to control their horse and keep their seat in any environment.

  • All rides at 3 Spear Ranch are private and catered to the rider's ability. Whether leaping over logs, running through open meadows, or strolling through the pastures, our wranglers will create the perfect ride for you.
  • At 3 Spear Ranch, there is no schedule for rides. If you want to take a ride at sunrise, sunset or in the dark, we're ready if you are! 3 Spear Ranch also offers rides of any length of time, so if you only have time for a quick one-hour ride or you have all day, we will take rides as long or as short as you wish.
  • On Friday nights in Summer, we offer a ride from 3 Spear Ranch to the Dubois Rodeo. This ninety-minute leisurely stroll across rolling hills and meadows sets the tone for a night of true Wyoming Cowboys giving all they got for pride and glory. Enjoy another ride back home to the ranch under the starry night sky.

Booking Policy

3 Spear Ranch's Winter rates range from $440 to $529 per cabin, per night plus, 12.5% state and local taxes. The ranch's Summer rates range from $489 to $585 per cabin, per night plus taxes.

There is no rate per person and all rates include daily continental breakfast. All other meals and activities are charged separately.

A deposit equivalent to 50% accommodation value plus taxes is due at the time of booking.

Cancellations made outside four weeks prior to arrival are refunded less a 3% processing fee.

A second deposit equivalent to 50% accommodation value plus taxes is due at four weeks prior to arrival.

Any cancellations fewer than four weeks in advance of arrival are subject to forfeiting the full deposit.

3 Spear Ranch boasts two small private lakes bursting with trophy rainbow trout. Working with local fishing guides, we offer 1/2 day private fishing trips, perfect for anglers of all abilities. The ranch is also conveniently located along the Wind River providing ample opportunities for anglers to catch brown trout, rainbow trout, and cutthroat trout.
