If you are looking for a true, authentic and relaxed western ranch adventure, 115 year old Bull Hill Ranch is your premiere destination! Completely staffed and catered to by 4th generation ranch family members, guests don't want to leave and most have abandoned other vacation destinations to visit Bull Hill year after year! From the mouths of our guests, "This is not a vacation, it is a physical and emotional reconnection to one's soul."

Nestled high in the mountains in the northeastern corner of Washington state, sits Bull Hill Guest Ranch. Founded in 1903, Bull Hill is part of a working cattle ranch encompassing more than 50,000 acres of lush mountain landscapes.

This premier destination combines all the wild and untouched beauty of the mountains, meadows, forests, river, lakes and streams with the warm and comfortable amenities of home. Forget all the turbulence of daily life and begin an adventure of a lifetime. Experience trail rides or cattle drives with breathtaking panoramas or go off trail and explore uncharted territory for a truly unforgettable experience.

Our rates are all inclusive - Cattle drives from our northern pasture near the Canadian border, fly fishing for Rainbow Trout on our private lake, boating, trap shooting, bird and wildlife viewing, mountain biking, western dancing, horseshoes, scavenger hunts, hearty meals, and beverage service are among some of the offerings included at Bull Hill.

After a long day of play and adventure you can relax and literally “look down” on the world below or engage in storytelling and conversation at the cookhouse or bar. Others may enjoy a late afternoon soak in the hot tub and an evening around the campfire.

Our family atmosphere is second to none as you arrive as a stranger and leave as family!

Good time to go

Pick your favorite season and that is the best time to visit Bull Hill! One popular season is in early summer when wild baby animals are abundant and wild flowers are vibrant. Another favorite season is in the late summer/fall. This is when our round-up is starting, colors are changing, and the weather is pleasant.

Children at the Ranch

Great for children aged 5 and over

Bull Hill encourages children to participate in all aspects of ranch life. Youngsters are welcomed to become one of the wrangler crew by helping brush, feed and prepare the horses for riding with the wranglers.

Whether children are beginning or accomplished riders, Bull Hill ensures that children improve their riding skills during their stay. For beginning riders, private riding lessons are available while more advanced riders are encouraged to take part in challenging rides, including cattle drives.

Fishing and swimming are other popular daytime activities while campfires and enjoying s’mores under the stars offers fun evening excitement.

Nearby "Mooreville" and Crown Creek Saloon is a fun afternoon destination for both children and adults. A mini replica of an old western town, adults can relax with a cold drink in the saloon while the youngsters watch a movie in the "Diamond Movie Theater", complete with popcorn and candy.

Fishing & Wildlife

Ansaldo Lake is privately owned by the Guglielminos and is reserved exclusively for Bull Hill Guest Ranch. Our lake is approximately 20 acres in size, and stocked with rainbow trout. It is a natural spring fed lake, dating back to prehistoric times. Don and Pete's great grandfather, Peter Ansaldo, staked his claim on the lake property as his original homestead in 1903 when he immigrated to this country from Italy. The ranch was passed down through four generations, and is enjoyed today by visitors nation-wide as a favored destination for mountain fly fishing.

A catch and release policy and limited access to only ranch clientele makes this an ideal sport fisherman's paradise. The feisty trout weigh up to 10 lbs and early evening hatches provide great opportunities for dry-fly casting either from the dock or boat. The shoreline is lined with reeds and is not appropriate for wading, however, it is an ideal lake for float tubing.

Fishing on offer

spin, fly, river, stocked pond, lake, guided non-inclusive, unguided, BYO equipment

Wildlife

Bear, Cougar, Bobcat, Lynx, Moose, Elk, Whitetail & Mule Deer, Wild Turkey, Eagles, Grouse, Painted Turtles, Hare, Wolves, Birds (water, meadow and mountain).

Visitor Reviews

Dont just take our word for it, see what visitors like you say...

Dude Ranch

The best ever. Panoramic scenery with mountains, lakes, horses, wild flowers. Ride at your own pace. Take a dip in cold clear lakes. Do a cattle drive but expect to participate, this is a working ranch. 50000 acres for cattle to roam. Houses, cabins, or glamping tents available. Comfort food prepared 3 times a day along with free flowing beverages including alcohol. You might need that after being in the saddle for hours. Skeet shooting and roping lessons available if you prefer not to ride. Friendly staff. Some guests have been returning for 12 years in a row and book their favorite lodging so if you are considering it for next summer better book soon. Long drive to get there closest airport in Spokane with about 3 hour drive or Seattle 6.5 hours but stunning views of Lake Roosevelt. 6 miles from Canadian border so bring your passport if you want to go. Didn't meet a wrangled there I didn't like. Yep reservations made for next year..
